Julia Dunlavey founded The Maine Playweek in March 2024. She works at Balcony Booking, a boutique film booking company that secures screening licenses for arthouse theaters across the country. She also works as the Director of Programming for the Maine Outdoor Film Festival. She spent three years as the Assistant Executive Director of the Maine Film Center in Waterville, where she coordinated repertory screenings, special guests, and maintained the website and internal databases. Living in Portland, she frequents the Nickelodeon, SPACE Gallery, and PMA Films with her friends and her husband, Dan.
Nate Stephenson is a Maine native, born and raised in Ellsworth, Maine. Graduating from Bates College in 2018 with a double major in Theater and French, he now resides in Portland where he works as an actor. He has performed on stages throughout New England and his screen work has been featured on Hulu, in the local Damnationland festival, and on LL Bean’s Youtube page. He is thrilled to have been approached by the Maine Playweek and to have the chance to increase its outreach through creative output. More information on his acting work can be found on his website, and his Letterboxd features his reviews which he writes only to make himself laugh.
